Riyadh: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance launched on Saturday the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' programs for distributing dates and providing iftar for fasting individuals in Malaysia during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. The programs include five tons of dates and are expected to benefit approximately 5,000 people. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Malaysia Osama bin Dakhil Al-Ahmadi and Malaysia's Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Religious Affairs Dr. Zulkifli bin Hasan.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Ambassador Al-Ahmadi said the implementation of the programs reflects the Kingdom's keenness to meet the needs of Muslims during the holy month and to ease the burdens of those in need. He noted that the initiative extends the Kingdom's continuous generosity toward Muslim communities and embodies the depth of relations between the two countries. He added that the programs express the Kingdom's humanitarian approach in serving Muslims.
For his part, the Malaysian minister expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Government of the Kingdom for the initiative. He said it reflects the Kingdom's commitment to supporting Muslims and sharing in their joy during Ramadan. He prayed that Allah Almighty safeguard the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people.
The ministry implements the date distribution program in 120 countries worldwide during Ramadan this year. It also carries out the iftar program in 70 countries as part of the leadership's commitment to caring for Muslims and sharing in their joy during the holy month.
