Jouf:Jouf University has launched a new initiative focused on public health and disease prevention research. The inauguration of the Chair for Public Health and Disease Prevention Research was led by the university's president, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shaya. This initiative aims to enhance scientific research and utilize epidemiological studies and health data to bolster preventive policies, improve quality of life, and further the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Prof. Al-Shaya highlighted the critical role of health research in supporting decision-making processes and increasing public awareness. The chair is designed to unite researchers, practitioners, and health authorities under a common goal.

The research chair will concentrate on various areas, including epidemiology, chronic and infectious diseases, community health, health awareness, and health economics. It also aims to enhance research capabilities and foster strategic partnerships.

The initiative's specific targets include the annual publication of 10 scientific papers in indexed journals, the execution of four specialized training programs, the launch of two awareness campaigns, the preparation of a yearly public health guide for the Al-Jouf Region, and the issuance of periodic health reports.
