Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication (KACCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). This initiative is part of the center's strategy to enhance international partnerships and promote moderation, tolerance, and coexistence.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU is designed to implement joint projects and initiatives that encourage intercultural communication, combat hate speech, and promote shared human values and social integration. Additionally, it aims to support the UN Plan of Action to Safeguard Religious Sites. The agreement also includes provisions for knowledge exchange and cooperation in organizing international events and programs. It seeks to develop joint global knowledge initiatives that contribute to capacity-building and knowledge transfer.
The MoU was signed by KACCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullah Al-Fouzan and UNAOC High Representative Miguel ngel Moratinos. Both parties highlighted the significance of this partnership in addressing global challenges related to fostering mutual understanding and creating more respectful and tolerant societies. These goals align with the Sustainable Development Goals and Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the Kingdom's international presence through civil society institutions and global intercultural engagement.
