Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide shelter assistance to internally displaced persons and those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The total project cost exceeds $10 million. According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement entails the distribution of 11,000 shelter kits, 2,400 rapid thermal kits, and 4,700 winter supplies, which include construction materials for home insulation and heating. These resources aim to support 48,870 individuals impacted by the ongoing crisis. This initiative forms part of the Kingdom's broader humanitarian efforts, managed through KSrelief, to assist refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide, ensuring they receive essential resources for a dignified livelihood. The agreement was formalized at the KSrelief headquarters in Riyadh, with signatures from Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, the Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at KSrelief, and Kelly Clements, the UNHCR Deputy High Commissioner. The signing ceremony was also attended by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief.
