Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a campaign in Aden to distribute one million insecticide-treated mosquito nets to prevent malaria in Yemen, in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Malaria Control Program at Yemen's Ministry of Public Health and Population.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the campaign aims to distribute the mosquito nets to the most vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, children, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in camps across all Yemeni governorates, benefiting 2,000,000 individuals.

Yemeni Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh underscored the importance of preventive assistance and the distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets to protect vulnerable groups and displacement camps. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, for its support to various sectors in Yemen, particularly the health sector, noting that this support reflects the deep fraternal ties between the two countries and will directly contribute to protecting lives and limiting the spread of epidemics. He added that, under the campaign, mosquito nets will be distributed over the coming days to 626 IDP camps across various governorates.

The project forms part of the Kingdom's ongoing humanitarian efforts, carried out through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to curb the spread of diseases and epidemics among displaced persons and the groups most vulnerable to infection, while improving preventive healthcare services in Yemen.
