Al-Hudaydah, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has rehabilitated the Fish Landing Center in Al-Khawkhah District, Al-Hudaydah Governorate, as part of the 'Emergency support to protect the agriculture-, livestock- and fishery-based livelihoods of highly vulnerable conflict and COVID-19 affected populations in Yemen' project, implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Al-Hudaydah Governor Dr. Al-Hassan Taher praised KSrelief assistance, saying that the fish landing center will help revive the fishing sector and improve the living standards and income of fishermen and their families, as well as of those involved in the marketing, selling, and exporting fish. It will also help preserve fish by providing solar-powered cooling storage. The project aims to rehabilitate and activate the most important fish landing centers along the coastal strip of Yemen. It also entails providing 1,000 iceboxes and 3,000 life jackets to 3,000 fishermen in A l-Mahrah Governorate, and supporting farmers and herders, enabling them to continue producing food for household consumption and local markets. This initiative is part of the humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom, through KSrelief, to enhance food security and support farmers and livestock breeders in various cities and governorates of Yemen.
