KSrelief Signs Agreement for Solar-Powered Wells in Benin

Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a joint implementation program with a civil society organization to drill three deep solar-powered wells in the Republic of Benin. The agreement was formalized during a video conference on Tuesday at the center's headquarters in Riyadh, with the signing conducted by the Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed Al-Baiz.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program's objective is to provide safe drinking water for human consumption, livestock, and domestic use in Benin. It aims to improve water supply in low-income areas, reduce waterborne diseases and parasitic disease vectors, and save lives, particularly among infants. The project will benefit approximately 9,000 individuals by ensuring access to clean water, thus contributing to improved nutrition.

This initiative is part of a broader series of humanitarian and relief projects and programs in the water and sanitation sector implemented by the Kingdom through KSrelief. The focus is on enhancing quality of life, offering sustainable environmental solutions, and reducing the spread of diseases and epidemics in needy countries globally.
