Mecca: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has introduced luggage storage services aimed at assisting pilgrims in performing their rituals with ease and convenience. This initiative allows pilgrims to store their belongings securely, ensuring a smooth and unburdened spiritual journey.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Presidency has set up baggage drop-off centers and points at the main gates, where luggage is received and stored on equipped shelves under monitoring systems. The process includes inspecting and registering the luggage, followed by the issuance of a bracelet containing the pilgrim's information. Upon collection, an electronic identification code is scanned to verify the data, ensuring the safe handling and prompt delivery of personal items.
The luggage is stored and transported with maximum protection in mind. The Presidency has established four baggage drop-off centers: the Western Square behind Restroom No. 6, Ajyad Street next to Restroom No. 1, the Guest Care Center in the Western Square, and next to the Makkah Library in the Eastern Square. These centers operate continuously during the Hajj season, complemented by seven baggage collection points at the main gates.
