Taif: Marwan Castle, located in Taif Governorate, holds significant historical importance as an early administrative headquarters for the First Saudi State. It served as a center for managing regional affairs and consolidating security during a period of political and social transformation in the Hejaz region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during this pivotal time, Taif became central when Othman bin Abdulrahman al-Madhaifi al-Adwani pledged allegiance to Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Saud, playing a key role in uniting Taif and the Hejaz under the First Saudi State. As governor, he strengthened the state's presence while fostering social cohesion.

A researcher on Taif's antiquities described Marwan Castle as situated north of Taif near Souk Okaz. Dating back to the 19th century, the castle was built with trimmed stone and mud mortar, featuring four circular towers, three main entrances, and a central courtyard. It also includes a mosque and a residential building, reflecting its defensive and administrative purpose.

Head of the Taif History Center Latifa Al-Adwani highlighted the governor's political skill in entering Taif without conflict, which contributed to stability and reinforced the authority of the First Saudi State. Marwan Castle remains a historical testament to the foundational era that solidified values of unity and loyalty, serving as a national landmark in Taif's historical narrative.
