Mina Emergency 2 Hospital Enhances Hajj Health Services with Record-Breaking Construction

Mina: In the heart of the holy sites and among the achievements of this year's Hajj, the "Mina Emergency 2" Hospital stands out as one of the most prominent field models of advanced health readiness provided by the Ministry of Health system to the Guests of God during this year's Hajj season 1446 AH. It was built, equipped, and fully operated within a world record period of no more than 30 days, by an integrated team of competent authorities, led by the Ministry of Health, and in partnership with Kidana Development Company, the main developer of the holy sites.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project, which was completed on an area of more than 5,300 square meters, represents a qualitative addition to the health facilities in Mina and was designed and operated according to the highest medical and engineering standards to complement the rest of the health service facilities designated for pilgrims to the House of God. The hospital's capacity reaches 200 beds, distributed among the emergency and hospitalization departments, sunstroke and heat stress treatment units, in addition to advanced equipment in radiology, laboratories, clinics, minor operations, isolation facilities, resuscitation, and medical staff support areas.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Supply and Engineering Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Turairi, confirmed in a special statement that the hospital's location was carefully chosen at the emergency landing pad in Mina, which enhances the speed of access to it. The hospital is linked to two main entrances to facilitate the movement of medical transport, the first via King Abdulaziz Road through a bridge and modern elevators, and the second via King Khalid Tunnel, which ensures the smooth flow of emergency operations for critical cases without time or operational obstacles.

Engineer Mohammed Madah of Kidana Company explained that the project faced significant challenges related to the tight timeframe and high operational pressure. However, effective integration between the various sectors contributed to overcoming obstacles during the implementation period. He pointed to the qualitative cooperation with the National Water Company and the Saudi Electricity Company to ensure the infrastructure was ready and provide vital services such as water, energy, and technical connectivity.

He added that the hospital's design was based on environmental and spatial considerations specific to the nature of Mina, taking into account crowd movement and the ability to accommodate seasonal emergency cases, stressing that the project is in line with the objectives of the Guests of God Service Program, and translates the national trend to develop service facilities within the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

The operation of "Mina Emergency 2" comes as part of the Ministry of Health's efforts to expand the scope of medical coverage during Hajj, and achieve a faster response in dealing with emergency health cases, while providing a fully equipped treatment environment within the scope of the holy sites. The project is one of the fastest hospitals completed in the world in terms of speed of construction and operation, and operates with high efficiency around the clock, through more than 550 health practitioners, including doctors, technicians, nurses, and administrators, who form an integrated emergency medical response system, which was able during the days of Hajj to receive multiple cases and provide them with urgent care in record time.

This achievement embodies the extent of joint coordination between various concerned authorities and the state's commitment to raising the level of health safety for the guests of God and ensuring the provision of advanced field medical care that contributes to enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals with peace of mind and ease, in light of an integrated health services system covering various vital locations during the Hajj season.
