Riyadh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and HRH the Crown Prince, for their support for the establishment of the 2nd ASEAN Conference “Khayr Ummah” in the Indonesian city of Bali, and other conferences that come within the framework of the Kingdom’s service to Islam and Muslims and the dissemination of values of moderation and countering hatred and extremism.

At the conclusion of the Conference, Al Al-Sheikh pointed out that Muslims around the world need to unify their ranks through their adherence to the pure doctrine of monotheism, wishing the conference all the success and to reach a joint collective action to unify the ranks of Muslims by adhering to moderation and working to spread them, and rejecting all forms of extremism, per the Holy Quran and the holy Sunnah of the Prophet.

Al Al-Sheikh pointed out that the discussions and working papers in the conference touched on the suffering of Muslims in the world due to their failure to work to be “the best nation”, stressing the need to work on correcting the understanding of the Holy Quran and Sunnah, hence the participation of non-Muslim delegations in the conference which aims to explain the reality of the Islam as a religion of affection, mercy, tolerance, and moderation.

The Conference, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, concluded its activities in Bali yesterday with a closing statement praising the efforts made by Saudi Arabia in the service of Islam and Muslims, through organizing and sponsoring international conferences, urging unification of ranks on the approach of moderation, and rejection of extremism and terrorism.
