Baghdad, The Popular Mobilization Forces Intelligence arrested the commander of an ISIS detachment in Baghdad.
The Popular Mobilization Authority stated in a statement that through careful effort and follow-up that lasted for three continuous days, the detachments of the General Directorate of Information in the capital, affiliated with the Intelligence and Information Assistant of the Popular Mobilization Authority, were able to track down one of the terrorist elements until he was arrested in Baghdad.
It explained that the arrest process was carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article Four of the Anti-Terrorism Law after he frequented the city of Kadhimiya, noting that the accused’s terrorist activity began in 2014 against the security forces and he worked within the ranks of the so-called North Baghdad Province.
It added that the detainee served as a detachment commander and participated in the so-called “Battle of the Valiant.” He also supervised the kidnapping operations of members’ children and the fighting against the security forces, where the necessary measures were taken against him so that he could receive his just punishment.
