The MP, Muhammad Saadoun Al-Saihoud saw that repeating the scenario of burning the Holy Qur’an and the Iraqi flag is a deliberate attempt aims to drag the country into a dangerous and systematic slide.

He said in a press statement today that: the infringement of Books and divine religions is a dangerous precedent, and that its repetition in a deliberate and systematic manner is intended to undermine Islam and Muslims. Therefore, targeting the Holy Qur’an and the Iraqi flag together, and more than once, has become clear that the enemies are targeting the government’s achievements. And those enemies do not like successes and aspirations of the government, which wants to remove the country from chaos and destruction.

He added, “The international community is required today to stand side by side with Iraq and the Islamic world to rein in all those who insult the Holy Qur’an and Iraq and its people, and to criminalize such practices that nothing to do with democracy and humanity, and has no connection other than that they are systematic and deliberate targeting of Islam and Muslims, and that the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation should hold an emergency summit in this regard and criminalize anyone who tries to harm Islam and Muslims under any name.”
