Riyadh:The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has announced updated regulations for ice cream shops with a focus on operational regulation, food safety standards, investor guidelines, and service quality enhancement.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the updated regulations encompass food safety measures from the point of product receipt through to storage, preparation, and serving. This includes critical aspects such as temperature control, allergen disclosure, and rigorous hygiene and sterilization procedures.
Personnel at these establishments are now required to acquire health certificates, maintain personal hygiene, and wear protective clothing while adhering to food safety practices. Additionally, ice cream shops must implement electronic payment systems and utilize standardized QR codes for transactions.
The ministry emphasized that the revised regulations aim to clarify the responsibilities of investors and business owners during the establishment and ongoing operation of their businesses. This approach seeks to support business development while ensuring customer safety and enhancing service quality.
