Riyadh: The Music Commission organized the specialized MIQ (Music Intelligence Quotient) workshop as part of its strategic Music Compass program, reinforcing ongoing efforts to develop and empower the Kingdom's music industry.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the commission aims to enhance national talent in line with international best practices, supporting the sector's sustainability and strengthening its competitiveness locally and globally.
Music Compass seeks to elevate Saudi professionals and position the music sector as a vital contributor to the Kingdom's creative economy. As one of the commission's flagship strategic programs, it focuses on empowering artist management entities and enhancing the capabilities of industry professionals.
The initiative aims to strengthen career pathway management, expand the skill sets of business managers, create new employment opportunities, and bolster the presence of Saudi artists on both local and global stages. Under Music Compass, the MIQ workshop forms part of the commission's broader efforts to build a professional and sustainable music ecosystem.
The workshop targeted business managers and practitioners in the music sector as part of the program's training track. It was delivered by international expert Niklas Molinder, a key initiator of Music IQ and the CLIP (Creators Learn Intellectual Property) initiative, which operates under the umbrella of the United Nations to educate creators and industry professionals on intellectual-property rights and protection across the creative sectors, including music.
The training covered several key topics, including the institutional framework for artist management, building artistic identity and personal branding, managing rights and contractual obligations, understanding the economic structure of the music sector, and reviewing leading global models in talent management.
