Jeddah: The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the continued incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli forces, as well as the raising of the Israeli flag in its courtyards.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued by the MWL General Secretariat, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa denounced these provocative practices, saying they inflame the sentiments of Muslims worldwide. He also condemned repeated Israeli violations of the historical and legal status quo in occupied Jerusalem, as well as breaches of relevant laws and resolutions, warning that such actions undermine peace efforts and threaten security and stability in the region and beyond.

Al-Issa stressed the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities by taking immediate action to halt these violations. He also welcomed the contents of the joint statement issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Trkiye, which called for confronting all Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He also praised the statement's firm solidarity with the Palestinian people, its support for protecting their holy sites, and its steadfast backing of their legitimate and inalienable national rights, foremost among them the right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
