Makkah, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, has inaugurated several humanitarian projects in the Republic of Kenya.
Among them, a project for combating blindness in South Africa, implemented in partnership with Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital. Officials from the Kenyan Ministry of Health and humanitarian organizations operating in Africa attended the project’s inauguration ceremony, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The project entails performing surgeries to treat hundreds of individuals with cataracts, conducting examinations and supplying patients with the necessary medication and medical supplies.
Al Issa also inspected the slum development project in Kenya that is being supervised by MWL and several of its international partners. He announced MWL’s commitment to fulfilling the community’s solar energy needs.
Al Issa has also attended the signing of a cooperation agreement between MWL and the Hepatitis
Fund, aiming to provide essential prevention, treatment, and care measures for those affected by this disease, which poses a threat to the lives of hundreds of millions worldwide.
