New York:Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, delivered the opening address at an event organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Al-Issa attended the event as an honored guest on behalf of the MWL. The event was part of UNHCR's participation in the high-level week of the General Assembly and was attended by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and several international participants.

Dr. Al-Issa emphasized the importance of charitable work in Islam, highlighting its unique features and legislative merits. He stressed the necessity for institutionalized and well-governed charitable work.

He also discussed the MWL's efforts to support and enhance charitable activities, focusing on governance and coordination in direct cooperation with government authorities in each country. He commended the cooperation with UNHCR and other United Nations organizations in these efforts.
