Riyadh: Najran's date markets are witnessing heightened economic activity as farmers market and sell this season's local date harvest. The region's main date market, located in the historic Aba Al-Saud neighborhood, has become a focal point for producers, traders, and consumers during the harvest season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, date farms across Najran continue to supply markets with abundant quantities of locally grown varieties, benefiting from the region's favorable climate and fertile soil. Ongoing agricultural support and extension services have helped improve production quality and promote the sector's sustainability, further stimulating commercial activity and reinforcing the status of Najran dates as one of the region's leading agricultural products.

Najran is home to some of the oldest and finest date palm varieties in the Arabian Peninsula, including Al-Mawakil, Baya, Barni, and Rutab. The annual harvest season represents a major economic event, supporting farmers' incomes, stimulating trade, and strengthening Najran's position as one of Saudi Arabia's leading date-producing regions.

Palm cultivation continues to receive support from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture through initiatives aimed at maintaining product quality and improving marketing opportunities by leveraging the region's comparative agricultural advantages.
