National Center for Wildlife Partners with BirdLife International to Boost Bird Conservation

Riyadh: The National Center for Wildlife (NCW) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with BirdLife International's regional office to enhance the protection of migratory birds and support broader wildlife conservation efforts.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the partnership will focus on several key initiatives, including the development of robust protection plans and effective management strategies for sites that are essential for both native and migratory bird species. This agreement also facilitates the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and research in the field of conservation, ensuring that international standards are applied to update biodiversity data within Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, the partnership promotes coordination for participation in relevant bird conservation conferences and aims to increase the Kingdom's national involvement in regional and international nature conservation frameworks. A significant aspect of this collaboration involves supporting NCW's initiative to combat illegal hunting, capture, and trade of migratory birds across the Arabian Peninsula.
