Riyadh: Portuguese Republic Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Nuno Mathias visited yesterday the International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) 2025, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club (SFC) at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, with the participation of leading local and international breeding farms. The auction runs until August 25.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ambassador was briefed by SFC Deputy CEO Ahmed Al-Habbabi on the auction's activities, the participating farms, and the cultural heritage the club seeks to preserve.
He toured the auction pavilions, viewed the falcon breeds on display and their care methods, and visited the participating farms' pavilions, the equipment pavilion, and the Falconer of the Future pavilion.
The auction, held over 21 days, is the largest of its kind in the world. It brings together elite falcon bloodlines from around the globe and serves as an annual destination for falconers and breeders. The event reflects the Kingdom's efforts to preserve the historical heritage of falconry and enhance its cultural and economic presence.
