Kuala lumpur: Prophet's Mosque Imam Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair yesterday participated in the closing ceremony honoring the winners of the 65th International Quran Recital and Memorization Assembly. The event was held at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur from August 2 to 9, with more than 70 countries participating.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sheikh Al-Budair, followed by a speech from Malaysian Minister of Religious Affairs Dr. Muhammad Naeem bin Mukhtar, who welcomed the attendees and congratulated the winners. The minister praised the significant support the Malaysian government provided to the competition and the outstanding participation of Islamic countries.
Sheikh Al-Budair's participation was part of the imams of the two holy mosques visits program, implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. The program included various events, visits, and meetings with senior officials in Malaysia aimed at boosting cooperation in the field of Dawah, promoting moderation, and serving the Holy Quran.
