Riyadh: The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has preserved three ancient trees as part of the Second Southern Ring Road Implementation Project, underscoring its commitment to balancing major infrastructure development and the protection of valuable natural assets within the city.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative comes within a broader development approach that takes into account the site's environmental characteristics and components, reflecting RCRC's commitment to aligning urban expansion with sustainability and environmental preservation.

The work included the implementation of specialized technical and engineering solutions to safeguard the trees throughout all phases of the project, alongside continuous protection, maintenance, and field monitoring measures to ensure their safety during construction.

These efforts highlight the level of care given to preserving natural elements within the project scope through solutions that meet implementation requirements while maintaining environmental value. The preserved trees, some more than 100 years old, hold significant ecological and spatial importance within their natural setting.
