Riyadh: The Riyadah Center, serving as the knowledge and empowerment arm of the General Authority of Awqaf, conducted a workshop at the United Nations headquarters in Riyadh. The purpose of this workshop was to design the 'endowment excellence index' in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

According to Saudi Press Agency, this index represents the first specialized transformational tool globally, aimed at enhancing the performance of endowment institutions and reinforcing their role in sustainable development. The strategic collaboration with UNDP allows for the harnessing of global expertise, positioning Saudi endowments as leaders both locally and internationally.

The index is structured to document and encourage best practices among endowment institutions, while establishing a solid methodological framework to aid in performance improvement.

The workshop included a comprehensive dialogue session that delved into the concept of endowment excellence. It addressed crucial institutional development challenges, capacity-building needs, and suitable benchmarks tailored to the specific landscape of Saudi endowments.
