Riyadh: Riyadh Region Mayor Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf on Monday sponsored the Global Infrastructure Forum and Expo, hosted by the capital from September 15 to 17 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum brings together participants from more than 25 countries and over 300 local and international exhibitors, including leading companies and institutions in water, energy, telecommunications, transport, smart cities, and vital utilities. It serves as an international platform for exchanging expertise, showcasing the latest solutions and technologies, and strengthening strategic partnerships in the infrastructure sector.
During the forum, five strategic partnerships were signed between the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center (RIPC) and several national entities, including memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at developing data-driven innovative solutions, enabling integrated planning and coordination, accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies, and strengthening digital capabilities in infrastructure projects.
The Riyadh region mayor also inaugurated the Projects and Events Support Office during the forum, aimed at fostering integration between major projects and service entities, enhancing coordination to prevent overlaps, improving quality of life, and contributing to more efficient spending, thereby supporting sustainable urban development in Riyadh.
The forum is part of the efforts of RIPC, the body responsible for infrastructure projects in the region, and it aims to enhance planning and implementation efficiency, improve the urban landscape, and promote innovation in projects, thereby strengthening Riyadh’s position as a leading global city in sustainable urban development.
