Riyadh: The Riyadh Municipality, in cooperation with the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), has announced the opening of registration for the 61st ISOCARP World Planning Congress, scheduled in Riyadh from December 1 to 4, 2025. The congress will focus on the theme “Cities and Regions in Action: Planning Pathways to Resilience and Quality of Life.”

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event coincides with ISOCARP’s Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of contributions to sustainable urban and regional planning. The congress occurs amidst rapid urban transformation in Riyadh, positioning the city as a center for global dialogue and exchange among planning professionals.

The congress will gather urban planners, government officials, ministers, mayors, and international experts for plenary sessions, panels, and workshops. Topics to be explored include climate resilience, digital transformation, inclusive governance, urban justice, and improving quality of life.
