SAIP CEO: Riyadh Design Law Treaty Bolsters the Kingdom’s Support for Creators

Riyadh: Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Swailem stated that the Cabinet's ratification of the Riyadh Design Law Treaty reflects the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening its intellectual property ecosystem.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Riyadh Design Law Treaty seeks to simplify and harmonize the formal requirements governing industrial design registration procedures, making it easier for designers and rights holders to secure protection for their creations.

The treaty is also expected to enhance the efficiency of design protection systems across member states, support creativity- and design-related industries, and promote the effective utilization of intellectual property assets.

The treaty's ratification is expected to strengthen the legal framework that fosters innovation and creativity while enhancing the attractiveness of the investment environment across the creative, industrial, and technology sectors.
