Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to Launch Economic Cooperation Framework, Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have agreed to initiate an Economic Cooperation Framework with the aim of enhancing their trade and investment relations, serving their shared economic interests.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this decision was announced in a joint statement following a meeting between His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, and Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting took place in Riyadh on October 27, 2025. The framework is intended to bolster the longstanding partnership between the two nations, which has been built on nearly eight decades of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity.

The framework includes discussions on various strategic and impactful projects in sectors such as energy, industry, mining, information technology, tourism, agriculture, and food security. Both countries are exploring joint economic projects, including a memorandum of understanding for an electricity interconnection project and cooperation in the field of energy.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the fraternal relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and it reflects their shared vision of building a sustainable partnership across economic, trade, and investment fields. The leaders of both countries are also anticipating the upcoming meeting of the Saudi-Pakistani Supreme Coordination Council, further solidifying their commitment to mutual interests.
