Melbourne: The delegation of the Saudi National Football Team arrived today in Melbourne, Australia, ahead of their pivotal match against Australia on Thursday evening at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. This match is part of the fifth round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Saudi Press Agency, upon their arrival at Melbourne International Airport, the Saudi delegation was warmly received by Saudi Ambassador to Australia, Sultan bin Fahd bin Khuzayem. Yasser Al-Mishal, the President of the Saudi Football Federation, expressed gratitude towards the Saudi Embassy in Australia for the warm welcome and noted the facilities provided to the team since their arrival.
The Saudi team is set to commence its preparation program with a closed training session scheduled for this evening at Lakeside Stadium. This session marks the beginning of their rigorous preparation for the upcoming match, which is crucial for their World Cup qualification journey.
