Astana: In a new national achievement for the Kingdom's advocates of the Holy Quran, the Republic of Kazakhstan announced that the nominee of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Shami, won first place in the 2nd annual International Quran Recitation and Memorization Competition.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the competition was held at the capital's Astana Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, with the participation of 21 countries.
The accomplishment marks a qualitative addition to the ministry's series of international successes in promoting the care of the Holy Quran and reflects the Kingdom's leading role in serving the Holy Quran.
