Riyadh, Snatching a bronze medal in weight 44 kg in the Arab Taekwondo Cup Championship 2022 held on February 3 and 4, 2022 in Fujairah Emirate, UAE, Maram Al-Yahya of the Saudi National Taekwondo team made history as the first Saudi female to achieve an external achievement in Taekwondo, it was reported here today.

Meanwhile, Donia Abu Taleb won the bronze medal in the 57 kg category in the tournament.

The Saudi Taekwondo team succeeded in garnering six medals, during its participation. Besides Maram and Donia, Yazan Bassisi won the bronze medal in the 48 kg, Abdulrahman Al-Shahrani got the bronze in 45 kg, Fahd Al-Samih took the bronze in 54 kg, while Ahmed Al-Muwallad won silver in the 80 kg category.

As many as 950 male and female players participated in the Arab Taekwondo Cup, representing 17 Arab countries.
