Riyadh: On May 8 of each year, the world celebrates World Red Crescent and Red Cross Day, which aims to elevate humanitarian response and enhance awareness of the significance of emergency work.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) continues its leading role in humanitarian and relief efforts. It seeks to strengthen the culture of volunteer work and promote its noble values through training programs and initiatives that enhance volunteers’ efficiency and expand their impact in community service.

In conjunction with this occasion, the SRCA launched the Responder application, a significant step in involving community members in humanitarian work by enabling them to be the first responders in emergencies. The application embodies the ‘People First’ philosophy to empower individuals to rescue members of society promptly.
