Saudi Team Falcons won the Esports World Cup, held for the first time in Riyadh.
Team Falcons were able to secure the title early after obtaining 4,160 points, which put them ahead of their nearest rivals.
Winning the “Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile” Championship in the first week, and the “Free Fire” Championship in the second week was a key factor in strengthening their lead, as they received 1,000 points for each tournament.
The Falcons will receive $7 million, as first-place finishers, out of the $60 million prize pool, and the World Cup trophy at the closing ceremony on August 25.
The Saudi team has most participations in the ESports World Cup, having taken part in 18 of the global event’s 22 tournaments, which reflects the team’s significant investment in the future of the gaming sector.
The eight-week World Cup will wrap up with a huge celebration that rises to the level of the historic event and celebrates the efforts of those contributing to its success.
The event will witness the crowning
of the winner of the Esports World Cup in a festive atmosphere that will see displays of fireworks, drones shows, and live music.
