SDAIA Seeks Public Input on Personal Data Processing Audit Guidelines

Riyadh: The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has extended an invitation to the public to provide feedback on the draft Guidelines for Licensing Standards of Auditing and Inspection Activities in Personal Data Processing via the unified public consultation platform, Istitlaa.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative is designed to boost public participation in the decision-making process concerning the regulation of personal data processing audit and inspection activities. It also aims to promote compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law and its implementing regulations, while fostering public trust in services and products driven by personal data.

The draft guidelines aim to create a clear and consistent regulatory framework for licensing entities authorized by the competent authority to perform audit and inspection activities. These entities will be responsible for issuing inspection reports as per the Personal Data Protection Law requirements.

SDAIA's public consultation seeks to motivate entities under the Personal Data Protection Law to align their practices with the law, its implementing regulations, and guidance from the competent authority. The guidelines also address necessary safeguards for transferring or disclosing personal data outside the Kingdom, enhancing compliance standards and confidence in the personal data protection framework.
