SDRPY and CST Collaborate on Yemeni Telecommunications Training

Aden: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), in partnership with the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), recently concluded a two-day training program in Aden Governorate. The initiative, held from June 14 to 15, was designed for personnel from Yemen's Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology and saw the participation of 44 trainees.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program was inaugurated via videoconference by CST Governor Eng. Haitham bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali, Yemen's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Shadi Basurra, and SDRPY Assistant Supervisor General Eng. Hassan Al-Attas. The training featured specialized modules delivered by experts from CST, aiming to enhance technical and administrative skills and update participants on the latest practices and technologies in the sector.

This marks the second collaborative training program between SDRPY and CST, following a successful first edition that catered to 32 trainees. The previous program significantly contributed to boosting the capabilities of Yemeni personnel and facilitated the transfer of advanced Saudi expertise in telecommunications.

The ongoing training efforts are part of a larger strategy to bolster institutional capacity and develop national competencies in Yemen. These initiatives aim to improve the performance of the communications and information technology sector, ensuring its alignment with rapid technological advancements and enhancing service quality for citizens.

SDRPY's broader development projects have also focused on economic empowerment for women, youth, and local communities, alongside investments in human capital. Notable efforts include the "Building the Future for Yemeni Youth" program, livelihood support projects in affected communities, and initiatives to enhance the capabilities of personnel in the transportation sector.
