Cairo: The second International Conference on Combating Discrimination Against Islam and Muslims commenced today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The two-day event is dedicated to addressing discrimination challenges faced by Islam and Muslims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is prominently participating in the conference with a delegation led by Dr. Abdullah Al-Fouzan, Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication. The conference is focusing on several significant topics, including the contribution of religious institutions and Islamic centers in fostering moderate religious discourse.

Key discussions at the conference also revolve around identifying the best national, regional, and international practices for countering hate speech. Additionally, the role of educational institutions in promoting tolerance and acceptance is being examined, alongside the involvement of civil society organizations in combating discrimination against Islam and Muslims. The empowerment of youth to encourage a culture of coexistence and mutual respect is another focal point.

The conference is a collaborative platform, bringing together representatives from entities concerned with intercultural dialogue and religious tolerance. Participants include governments, international, regional, and national organizations, as well as civil society organizations and youth representatives.
