Riyadh: Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) CEO Sultan Al-Marshad participated in the inauguration of the Gbarnga-Salayea Road Project in the Republic of Liberia. The event was attended by President Joseph Boakai, with SFD contributing $20 million to the project's financing.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project aims to develop Liberia's transport infrastructure through the construction of an 81-kilometer road. This construction includes stormwater drainage facilities, bridges, safety elements, and a load measurement station. The development is intended to enhance the efficiency of the road network and support economic and sustainable development in the region.
Since 1978, SFD has financed four development projects and programs in Liberia. This has been achieved through concessional development loans totaling more than $58.8 million, supporting vital development sectors in the country.
