Riyadh:The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued a warning about certain Arla Protein Pudding products due to potential contamination with glass fragments. These products, available in flavors such as Chocolate, Hazelnut Latte, Salted Caramel, and Crème Brûlée, are produced in Denmark under the "Arla" brand and sold in 6x200g packs.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the warning follows a voluntary notification from the company, prompting a precautionary recall of specific batches distributed worldwide. The SFDA confirmed that no incidents related to these products have been reported in Saudi Arabia so far. The affected batch numbers include ES26257001, ES26282001, ES26284001, ES26284002, ES26284003, ES26247001, ES26274001, ES26276001, ES26276002, ES26267001, and ES26273001.
Consumers are advised not to consume these products and to dispose of them immediately. The SFDA has urged individuals who have consumed the affected items and experience symptoms such as throat or abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting to seek medical attention promptly.
The authority has assured that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure these products are urgently withdrawn from the market. It also reiterated that voluntary recalls are standard practice to protect consumer safety, and emphasized that a voluntary recall does not exempt an establishment from legal accountability for any harm caused by its products under the applicable laws and regulations.
The SFDA remains committed to monitoring food safety and ensuring compliance among all food establishments. The public is encouraged to report any food safety violations to the SFDA unified call center at 19999.
