Riyadh: Minister of Sport and Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) president Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal extended his congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as to the Saudi people on the national football team's qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the seventh in its history, to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the sport minister extended his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the wise Saudi leadership for its constant attention and generous support to the sports sector and athletes across the Kingdom. 'The wise leadership has provided every means to keep the Kingdom's flag flying high at international sporting events, including the world's greatest football tournament, the FIFA World Cup,' said Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki.
He also congratulated the players of the Saudi national team, along with the technical and administrative staff, on officially securing qualification. The minister stressed the need to intensify efforts to ensure that the Saudi team delivers exceptional performances in its seventh historic appearance at the world's premier football event next year.
