Sport Minister Crowns Aoki Racing Team as Winner of First Round of UIM E1 World Championship 2026

Jeddah: Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal crowned the Aoki Racing Team on Saturday, represented by Spaniard Dani Clos and Jamaican Sara Misir, as winners of first place in the opening round of the UIM E1 World Championship 2026.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the electric speedboat championship ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, and Sovereign Prince of the Principality of Monaco Prince Albert II.

Meanwhile, President of the Saudi Water Sports and Diving Federation Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Salman crowned the Brady team, represented by Briton Sam Coleman and Finnish captain Emma Kimil¤inen, with the second-place trophy.

Founder and Chairperson of SeaBird Technologies Sophi Horne presented the third-place award to Team AlUla, represented by Canadian Rusty Wyatt and Spaniard Nerea Mart­. Founder and Chairman of the E1 Championship Series Alejandro Agag awarded the Manufacturers Cup to Aoki Racing Team.

At the conclusion of the first round, which is part of the eight-round season, Aoki Racing Team leads the overall standings, followed by the Brady team in second place and Team AlUla in third. The championship will continue with its upcoming rounds, with the second round scheduled to take place at Lake Como, Italy, from April 24 to 25.
