London: Richarlison has been left out of Tottenham's Premier League squad.

According to BBC, Spurs manager Roberto de Zerbi revealed last week that the Brazil forward had expressed his desire to leave the club. He was reportedly on the verge of rejoining his former club Everton before Tuesday's transfer deadline, but the deal ultimately did not materialize.

The 29-year-old has now been excluded from Tottenham's squad for the first half of the season's top-flight games. It is understood that Richarlison does not feature in Tottenham's plans this season, a decision that was communicated to him before the transfer deadline. Despite the closure of the transfer window in England, Richarlison is expected to depart the club in the coming days, with the transfer markets in Turkey and Saudi Arabia still open.

Richarlison joined Tottenham from Everton in the summer of 2022, after moving to the Toffees from Watford in 2018. Entering the final year of his contract at the London club, he started in Tottenham's defeat by Brentford in their Premier League opener. However, he was not included in De Zerbi's squad for the 2-0 home loss to Newcastle United on Saturday. Following the game, De Zerbi commented on the player's situation, stating, "Richarlison, I don't know. He said too many times he wants to leave."

Earlier in August, De Zerbi acknowledged the Brazilian's uncertainty regarding his future, admitting, "It's not easy to find another striker like Richarlison." Nonetheless, Spurs have recently acquired Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush on loan, who replaced Richarlison in the Newcastle match. Richarlison was Tottenham's top scorer in the league last season, netting 11 goals in 32 appearances and providing four assists, playing a crucial role in their fight for Premier League survival, which was secured on the final day.
