The Transport General Authority (TGA) has reiterated the necessity of all drivers' commitment to the educational transport activity to implement the regulatory requirements for practicing the activity and providing transportation services, coinciding with the beginning of the new academic year 1445 AH and the return of students to schools. The regulatory requirements include that the driver be at least 25 years old, obtain a driver's card, a valid driver's license, and a certificate of no criminal record, obtain an approved first aid , pass the TGA's medical examination, pass the professional competency test, and take any test or training courses specified by the authority. The TGA also stressed to all beneficiaries, male and female students and educational cadres, the necessity of dealing with the regular carrier. This is to ensure their safety and to provide them with safe, quality, and efficient transportation services, a commitment the TGA takes very seriously. The authority has obligated those lice nsed in this activity to apply all technical equipment and safety tools for educational buses used in their transportation, which include buses with a capacity of more than 15 seats, buses with less than 15 seats and smaller vehicles with less than nine seats to enhance the level of care for students and achieve the required safety standards. This equipment includes safety tools on the bus, tracking devices linked to the WASL platform, cameras inside the bus, a "reflective school bus" sign on the sides and back of the bus, and the rest of the other equipment that contributes to ensuring beneficiaries' safe arrival. The Authority is working to intensify its inspection tours of buses designated for educational transportation. This ensures that carriers comply with the regulatory requirements and standards the authority approves. The authority also allows communicating with it through beneficiary care platforms, such as the unified number 19929 for inquiries, comments, or monitoring violations by carriers in this vital activity or through the authority's official website, tga.gov.sa.
