The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, affirmed, “Iraq’s firm and supportive position for the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights on their national soil, in a way that achieves a just peace.”
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic said, “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, the Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq, Ahmed Aqel.”
Rashid referred to “the importance of the fraternal relations that bind Iraq and Palestine and the need to develop them in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples,” stressing “Iraq’s firm and supportive position for the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights on its national soil, in a way that achieves a just peace.”
For his part, the Palestinian ambassador extended his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic, pointing to “the importance of Iraq’s role in supporting Palestine and the rights of its people.”
He stressed, “his country’s keenness, government and people, to continue cooperation with Iraq in various fields.”
