The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of two PKK militants and the seizure of a quantity of ammunition in northern Iraq.
The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement today, Wednesday, that one of the Turkish army units in charge of operations the Claw Lock in northern Iraq responded with fire at a group of PKK militants and managed to kill two of them and seize a quantity of ammunition.
The Turkish army carried out a large-scale military operation on April 18 of last year, and it is still ongoing, dubbed Lock of the Claw, against the strongholds of the PKK in the regions of Matina, Zab, Afshin and Bazian in northern Iraq.
