Tokyo: The first press conference for “Ring V: Night of the Samurai” was held yesterday in Tokyo. The major boxing event will take place on December 27 at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, as part of Riyadh Season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event will feature a lineup of boxers from Japan and Latin America, headlined by the main event bout: Japanese champion Naoya Inoue, the unified super bantamweight title holder, will face Mexican Alan Picasso, who is ranked number one by WBC in the same weight class.

Six top Japanese boxers participating in the event-Junto Nakatani, Kenshiro Teraji, Taiga Imanaga, Hayato Tsutsumi, and Reito Tsutsumi, in addition to Inoue-were present at the conference.

General Entertainment Authority Chairman and Saudi Boxing Federation President Turki Alalshikh expressed his respect for Japanese champions, stating: “This is an exceptional event that includes in each fight a Japanese fighter facing an opponent from around the world. We look forward to welcoming boxing fans from Japan and various countries in Riyadh.”
