Jeddah: Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Saleh Al-Jasser inspected the facilities of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Monday. He was accompanied by key officials including GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, CEO of Matarat Holding Raed Al-Idrissi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Airports Company Eng. Raed Al-Mudaiheem, and CEO of Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) Eng. Mazen bin Mohammed Johar.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister's tour commenced at the Welcome Hall, where he examined the hall's facilities and the services available for travelers. He inspected the electronic gates and received a briefing on the operating mechanisms and technologies aimed at enhancing efficiency and expediting procedures.
The minister also visited the duty-free area and the passport control section, receiving an overview of the key services provided to both departing and arriving passengers. His tour included a stop at the health control center to assess its readiness and the health services offered, as well as a visit to the customs area to learn about modern technologies used to detect prohibited items and improve passenger movement.
Furthermore, Al-Jasser reviewed updates on flights affected by current events and monitored travel movements to ensure a smooth flow. He examined the efforts in place to assist stranded passengers from GCC countries at the Kingdom's airports, emphasizing the provision of full comfort and care within an integrated system of efficiency and organization.
This visit reflects the directives of the wise leadership and highlights the deep fraternal ties uniting the Gulf states and their peoples. Additionally, Al-Jasser commended the efforts of all airport sector employees, appreciating the high-level coordination and teamwork to facilitate smooth travel and arrivals, especially noting the rapid growth in passenger traffic during the holy month of Ramadan from various parts of the world.
