Ugandan Resident Describes Ramadan Fasting Experience in Madinah

Madinah: Ugandan resident Asaad Abdullah Smambo, who has lived in Madinah since 1980, described the city's Ramadan atmosphere as a source of tranquility and reverence for worshippers and visitors.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Smambo said his daily routine during Ramadan begins with performing Fajr prayer and reading the Holy Quran, followed by attending to daily needs before heading to the Prophet's Mosque to perform Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Taraweeh prayers. He also participates in collective iftar with worshippers, which fosters a sense of belonging among Muslims from around the world.

He added that the experience of iftar and Umrah during Ramadan brings a unique spiritual dimension, combining worship, compassion, and unity, and noted that such a sense of serenity is distinctive to Madinah.

Smambo expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its efforts in facilitating acts of worship and ensuring a positive experience for residents and visitors during the holy month.
