New york: GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi and UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres condemned the Houthi militia's attacks on Saudi Arabia, their targeting of civilian sites, and the threat these attacks pose to security and stability in the region. This statement was made during their meeting on the sidelines of the GCC Secretary-General's participation in the meetings of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the two leaders discussed several topics, with a focus on reviewing and strengthening cooperation between the GCC and the United Nations to serve common interests. They also exchanged views on the latest regional developments and explored various regional issues and the efforts being undertaken to address them.

Additionally, the UN Secretary-General commended the progress made by GCC member states in terms of development and prosperity. He also acknowledged the regional and international efforts by these states to enhance security and stability.
