Riyadh: United Nations Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres congratulated Muslims worldwide on the start of Ramadan, urging them to adopt its values as a means of transcendence and upholding shared humanity to build a more just and peaceful world for all.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Guterres highlighted that Ramadan embodies the principles of compassion, empathy, and generosity, offering an opportunity to reconnect with family and community.

The secretary-general's Ramadan solidarity visit this year will be to Bangladesh from March 13 to 16, as announced by his spokesperson St©phane Dujarric.
