The auction yard of the Unaizah International Dates Season, organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture under the supervision of the National Centre for Palms and Dates, receives 63 varieties of dates daily.
General Supervisor of the auction yard Eng. Ahmed Al-Odaibi said that the most requested varieties are Sukkari, Barhi, Medjool and Khudari. Other varieties like Shishi, Segai, Rashidiya, Fankha and Munifi are also in demand. These varieties are brought to the yard from all over the Kingdom.
The Unaizah International Dates Season utilizes smart carts to display dates, enabling buyers to thoroughly inspect the entire quantity of dates before entering the auction yard. It also designates paths for each variety of dates to streamline the selection process.
